Position Summary

The Insurance Agency Manager (IAM) will be responsible for achieving agency revenue targets as well as meeting
agency/carrier production requirements through outbound phone calls and other means of proactive sales activities. The role
will be responsible for managing a team of agents ensuring they are meeting stated goals and targets. The role is responsible
for hiring, training, coaching, and developing talent to represent the agency in the marketplace. The role will continually work
with referral sources and self-generated sales opportunities to fill and maintain a sufficient sales pipeline for the sales team, in
order to quote, sell, and process insurance applications that exceed monthly sales goals. The role will be expected to manage
the acquisition of profitable new business, as well as the servicing of existing accounts to achieve maximum retention,
compliance and profitability standards.

Qualifications Required

  • High school diploma/GED required; bachelor’s degree preferred
  • Must possess an active Property and Casualty License and be willing to acquire additional state licenses as needed
  • 3 + years of experience managing an insurance sales team
  • 3 + years of direct insurance experience
  • 2 + years of experience and knowledge of personal lines insurance products, coverage and services
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in phone sales, preferably within the insurance marketplace
  • Strong multi-tasking, self-management, and self-motivating skills
  • Knowledge of agency rating systems and various carrier websites
  • Proven ability to adapt to a changing environment
  • Strong sales skills with proven track record of demonstrated success
  • Proficient with MS Office applications

Essential Functions & Responsibilities

  • Provide superior service to our clients by promptly responding to their inquiries or concerns in regards to their
    insurance needs
  • Using in depth knowledge of personal lines insurance products, coverage and services to help train team to excel
  • Manage, coach, train, and develop insurance agents to meet and exceed performance goals
  • Create and establish a culture of success and excellence
  • Support the Insurance Agents throughout the new business process to ensure successful conclusion, and
    management accounts after coverage has been bound
  • Support Customer Service Representatives (CSR) throughout the agency lifecycle of a customer
  • Develop training for Insurance Agents and CSR’s
  • Fully utilize the capabilities of the agency management system including consistent and thorough documentation of
    all client related interactions for E&O purposes
  • Daily, weekly, and monthly tracking and reporting of agency production from direct reports
  • Daily, weekly, monthly accountability of team with metrics and development
  • Managing accountability of sales representatives quote volume and production
  • Establish goals and metrics for each individual direct report
  • Maintain individual customer files and process routine correspondence between our agency and the client or
    company, including preparing policy documents
  • Perform additional functions at the direction of Agency Leadership
